Education

We believe that there is always something new to learn and we strive to offer informative and interesting flying displays in the hope that our visitors will go away with a greater knowledge and respect of Birds of Prey and nature in general.  Our staff are always on hand to answer any questions and everything we do originates in our core belief that conservation stems from awareness and education.

Schools

At The Devon Bird of Prey Centre we offer a variety of educational programmes from School Visits to onsite educational curriculum based courses.

We can bring a selection of birds into school for close encounters, allowing students the rare opportunity to get close to these amazing birds and learn about them in a fun and personal way.  These visits can be tailored to fit individual needs to enhance learning in a variety of topics.  We have found these visits to be a memorable and engaging way for students to deepen their learning.

As part of our onsite courses we have experience working with both mainstream and SEN groups and can provide bespoke one-off session up to a six-week structured programme (one morning a week) at The Devon Bird of Prey Centre.  Sessions can be tailored towards confidence building, teamwork and interpersonal skills whilst giving students a wider understanding of the natural world around them.  These sessions include close contact, handling and flying a selection of our wonderful birds
